Ian Williams' practice explores the reality of virtual environments through painting. Using found objects from video games, he employs the conventions of still life painting to examine the properties of the virtual everyday object. Williams works primarily in painting and drawing and has exhibited in over twenty-five group exhibitions and several solo exhibitions since graduating with First Class Honours from Curtin University in 2018. His work is held in public and private collections, including Artbank, Curtin University, University of Western Australia, Central Institute of Technology, and Town of Victoria Park. He is currently a lecturer in painting at Curtin University.
